Finland

In Finland, Tilaushistoriakeskus (Beställningshistoriskcentralen) has as its main responsibility to provide advice and guidance in the writing of books concerning local history. The institution’s board consists of representatives from organisations and institutions who work in the historical and cultural heritage sector.

Local history is an integrated part of the activities of the two local heritage associations in Finland. The largest is the Finnish speaking Suomenkotiseutuliitto, the second is Finlands svenska hembygdsforbund.
