Local History World Wide:
An International Internet Inventory

The purpose of Local History World Wide is to make a presentation of local history as it is practiced around the world. So far you will find satisfactory national presentations for Norway, Sweden, The United States, Hungary and Belgium (Flemish community). The information on other countries is somewhat haphazard, containing only some key words and links to related websites.

We are actively seeking cooperation with local history communities around the world in order to collect information for the presentations. To facilitate the work, we have made a draft framework which we hope our partners - perhaps you? - can help us fill out. The primary language on this website will be English. However, we hope to have the presentations available in other world languages as well.

Local History World Wide is affiliated to the Norwegian website lokalhistorie.no, which has been produced and is edited by The Norwegian Institute of Local History (Norsk lokalhistorisk institutt).
